Ribbon allows you to upload Shopify files (with modifications) to import products into your collection. While it is less time consuming then building a file from scratch, you will need to make modifications.
How to convert a Shopify file
- Export your items into a CSV file.
- Delete "Published" column
- Add "Min Quantity" column to the file
- Each item needs to have a minimum quantity
- Min quantity is treated as a case pack
- Confirm all items have SKUs
- SKUs are listed in the Shopify file under the "Variant SKU" column
- Update your wholesale pricing.
- If you are exporting from a retail site, please change your “Variant Price” to your wholesale pricing.
- Save your file as CSV UTF-8 (*.csv) format.
- This helps correct many "special character" errors
- The first row must be the column headers.
- If you are working in Apple Numbers, it will automatically add a header row with the file name. Please be sure to delete that.
- Upload the file into your collection. See how here.
- Check for and correct any errors
- Go to Product Import
- Wait for download to reach Step 8 of 8
- Click on appropriate "Load #"
- Go to Product Import
-
- From there you can check for errors
Note: You can download a Ribbon file to make corrections, add sort order, product status and taxonomy
- Go to your collections page
- Click Edit Profile
- Click Export Items
