The next part of your product file is adding variants (if your products have them), setting product status and sort order. All these are optional fields but are available to make your collection more robust and attractive. Please refer to the Ribbon Product File Guide for more guidance on how to set up your product file.
Product Variations (Optional)
Some of your products may have variations such as different sizes, color options, wording etc. each product may have up to three different types of options with unlimited choices for each option.
For example, a shoe may have a gender option (Womens or Mens), a color option (Blue, Red, Yellow, Black etc), and a size option (6, 7, 8, 9 etc). You would need to list each possible combination Women's, Blue, Size 6, Women's, Blue, Size 7 etc.
- File Example
-
- Each product variant must have its own unique SKU.
- Product with variants can have the same Title.
- Product with same Title name have to be written consecutively.
- Each product variation option may have one Variant Image URL that will be shown to buyers when that variant selection is made.
- Each product can have up to three variant options
- Each product variant must have its own unique SKU.
Product Status (not optional)
Product status allows you to alter how a product is searched for and seen on your collection.
The different product statuses are:
- 0 (Published/Active): the product is active and visible in your collection
- 1 (Draft): the product is in progress and is not active in your collection
- 3 (Hidden): the product is not active in the Collection, but is searchable
- 4 (Discontinued): the product is active, visible, and searchable but labeled as discontinued in your collection (warns buyers and reps that this product could be going away soon)
Note: If the Status column is left blank in your product file, the product will default as Published/Active.
Note: Ribbon has stopped using Product status 2 and it will be considered invalid in your product file. You can delete your products one of the following ways:

Sort Order (Optional)
Sort order lets you determine what order your products are displayed on your collection page.
The recommendation for sort order is that products be assigned numbers in increments of 10, first product=10, second product =20 etc. This allows room to add other products in between without having to reorganize your whole file.
An example would be:
Item #1 = 10
Item #2 = 20
Item #3 = 30
and so on
UPC (Optional)
If your products have UPC numbers you would enter them here.
The UPC column must be formatted from "General" to "Number" with no decimal points.
