If you already have the MeetRibbon integration set up in Shopify and want to update it to start syncing orders as drafts instead of confirming them immediately, follow these simple steps.
⚠️ Please Note: With this update:
-
Inventory will not be deducted until the order is confirmed in Shopify. Ensure your team is aware of this change to prevent overselling.
-
Product prices will now sync directly from Shopify:
-
For retail users: The price displayed in the order will reflect the Shopify price. A note will be added with the Wholesale price, and you can apply a discount or adjust pricing as needed to match your wholesale pricing.
-
For wholesale users: The integration will sync the Shopify price as-is, ensuring consistency with the pricing set in Shopify.
-
Step 1: Access Your Shopify App Settings
-
Log into your Shopify account.
-
Click on Settings in the bottom left menu.
-
Navigate to Apps and Sales Channels.
-
Select Develop Apps.
-
Find and select the app you previously created for the MeetRibbon integration.
Step 2: Update API Scopes for Draft Orders and Publications
-
Inside your app, go to Configuration.
-
Under Admin API Integration, click Edit.
-
Enable the following additional scopes:
-
Draft Orders:
read_draft_orders,write_draft_orders -
Publications:
read_publications,write_publications
-
-
Confirm that the following scopes are selected:
-
Orders:
read_orders,write_orders -
Inventory:
read_inventory,write_inventory -
Products:
read_products,write_products -
(Optional) Shopify Markets (for international stores with non-USD main currency):
read_markets,write_markets
-
-
Click Save to apply your changes.
Step 3 (Optional): Additional Update for International Stores
If your store operates in a main currency other than USD and you use Shopify Markets for USD pricing, you will need to enable an additional scope:
-
In the Admin API Integration section, also select:
-
Markets:
read_markets,write_markets
-
-
Click Save.
Step 4: Finalizing the Update
-
Once the new scopes are added, your integration will automatically update.
-
Orders placed on MeetRibbon will now sync as draft orders in Shopify, allowing you to review them before confirmation.
-
For international stores, this ensures that they can sync their products with Ribbon and sync their USD market pricing.
Viewing Orders in Shopify as Drafts
After finalizing the update, your orders will now appear as draft orders in Shopify.
-
If your store is retail, please note that the retail price will sync.
-
On the right side under Additional Details, you will see a note with the order total.
-
Under each line item, you will see the wholesale price, which is the price being synced from MeetRibbon.
-
Since the order is now a draft, you can manually apply a discount to adjust the total for your wholesale pricing.
