Building your product File - Required information

Creating your product collection starts with building a CSV product file.

The first part of building your product file is entering your required information into the Product CSV Template. We recommend you use our Ribbon Product File Guide to help you build your files.

 

The first six columns on your product file are required field

Each product must be listed on one row and have a:

• SKU

• Title 

• Description 

• Wholesale Price 

• Minimum Quantity 

• Image URL* 

*Image URLs are not required but highly recommended so there are photos of your products on the site

Tips to avoid unwanted product duplications and other issues.

• All products must have a unique SKU (even product variants)
• All items must have a unique titles for a given set of variants
• Do not include currency symbol in Wholesale Price, just the numerical value
• Titles are not case sensitive Key chain = key Chain
• Products can have multiple image URLs in 1 cell, separated by a comma 
  • Your main product image should be a regular product image with a white or neutral background. Lifestyle images should be secondary images for the product.
  • IMPORTANT! All product images on Ribbon are square. If you have rectangular images, they will be cropped to center automatically.
• Variant image can only have 1 image

 

These characters are not allowed in Titles

• asterisk (*),
• plus sign (+),
• question mark (?),
• backslash (\),
• period (.),
• caret (^),
• square brackets ([ and ]),
• dollar sign ($),
• ampersand (&).
• or sign (|).
• If you are using round parenthesis (( )) they must be closed
  • Matchbook (blue   - incorrect  
  • Matchbook (blue)  - correct
