Now that you’ve completed product syncing, you can set up inventory and order syncing. This feature ensures that your Shopify store and MeetRibbon platform are always up-to-date with the latest inventory levels and order statuses.
Note: If you haven’t set up product syncing, please go back to Setting Up Product Syncing and complete those steps first.
For Users Starting from Scratch
- Follow the steps in step 1: Setting Up Product Syncing first.
- Then, continue with the steps below.
For Users Who Have Already Set Up Product Syncing
On Your Shopify Portal
- Go to Settings > Apps and Sales Channels
- Click on Develop Apps and find the app you created in Step 1 for product syncing.
- You’ll be in the Overview tab on your app. Click > Review Configuration
- Select Configure on the “Admin API integration”.
- Select the read and write scopes for Orders, Inventory, and Products.
- Click Save and on then go to the API credentials tab, click "Reveal token once"
Important: The Admin API key will only be shown once. Make sure to use it right away or save it securely in your notes to use later.
On Your MeetRibbon Portal
- Go to your Workdesk from the top right corner and click on Integrations in the left side menu.
- Click Settings on the Shopify integration.
- Scroll to the bottom and toggle the “Order + Inventory” sync on.
- You’ll be prompted to add the Admin API key, which starts with “shpat”
- After adding the Admin API key, you can select which orders to import based on their status.
- Once this is done, the integration has been successfully set up.
Inventory Rules
- To ensure your inventory is accurately reflected on the platform, the following inventory rules will be applied:
- Inventory Above 5: Displays as “In Stock.”
- Inventory is 5: Displays as “Only 5 left.”
- Inventory Below 5: Displays as “Low Stock.”
- Inventory at 0: Displays as “Out of Stock.”
Order Syncing
- You will notice a “sync” icon on your Workdesk for orders that have been synced so you always know if something is still pending.

Q: How often are orders synced?
A: Orders are synced approximately every 15 minutes.
Q: Where can I find the PO reference in Shopify?
A: The PO reference can be found at the bottom of the order in the “timeline” section.
Q: How do I process payments for orders with card details submitted?
A:A: For orders with card details submitted, you'll need to process the payment in MeetRibbon via your payment gateway. After that, you can mark the order as paid in your Shopify portal.
Q: Can I send invoices and payment links from Shopify?
A: Yes, once your order is imported you can send invoices and payment links directly from Shopify.
