How does Ribbon’s Payment Gateway infrastructure work?

Ribbon’s payment system is built with bank grade security and global connectivity. Vendors from 105 countries can choose from over 55 Gateways to process payments. Buyers anywhere in the world can hand over their credit card with confidence that it will reach vendors with PCI Level 1 compliance - the strictest and highest level. 

Ribbon tokenizes cards for each gateway so that real numbers are never revealed.  This does two things: it reduces buyer anxiety over fraudulent charges, and vendor frustration with having to chase down credit cards after the sale. Once tokenized, you can use the  stored card information for current shipments and backorders, as long as you have the buyer’s permission. 

If in doubt, check with the buyer or your rep, and/or add a clause to your terms and conditions.
